It seems that nice weather is finally here to stay a bit. With everything outside coming to life and bringing many new inspirations for colors. The trees are budding, bulbs are popping out with vibrancy. This makes me happy! Very happy after the long dark days of winter has passed. So me doing a happy dance I danced all the way to one of the mills I use and ordered new yarns. In hopes that you'll love them as much as I do.
In the studio, there are a few secrets that I'm currently in the process of dying up. And no, I can't spill the beans just yet. But as you can guess from the picture the colors all flow together. A kit? Perhaps... You never know and that's what makes what I do fun and enjoyable! However, I will tell you the above yarn is Merino Silk blend with a touch of sparkles, in DK/ Light Worsted.
The past few days I've also dyed up some old favorites and new colors such as the one pictured. It yet has to be named, but as you can see there are many colors floating amongst each other. Any suggestions on names? The inspiration came from a Facebook page I follow which shows stone steps with a ton of tiny bits of vibrant colors in between.
I've also had my needles busy with a new color aptly named Cactus Fruit.
The pattern is called Monkey Socks by Cookie A. It's found free on Knitty and there is also a paid version on Ravelry. Cactus Fruit is the first new color that I dyed up on 100% Polwarth and I'm loving this base. It takes the dyes beautifully, has a great hand, and shows great stitch definition. So what's not to love!
